AMP VISUAL TV on the road with the Tour de France for Eurosport

TDF 2014 5

21 stages and 2277 miles! For the 101st Tour de France, our team and the DSNG 1 coach from "Les Films du Soleil" have travelled the roads from Leeds (UK) all the way to the final stage on the Champs-Elysées on Sunday 27th July. Here is a typical day's filming for AMP VISUAL TV.

6 am: Setting up
It's an early start for our team: our vehicles take their place in the technical area to set up the satellite connection.

12.50 pm: Before the stage  -  three minutes of recording on Jacky Durand's set (one camera).

1.50 pm: Before the stage  -  Eurosport International live set "LeMond on Tour"

Our team carries out the live recording for Eurosport International. Accompanied by a racer or a sports trainer, Stefano Bernabino and his consultant, Greg LeMond (three times winner of the Tour de France), present that day's stage. On set, our filming equipment consists of three fibre optic cameras and one hand-held camera.

5-6 pm: The stage arrives  - "LeMond on Tour" and two close-up reporters

"LeMond on Tour" continues: this time the presenters commentate on the race as it arrives and builds towards the end. At the same time, two close-up reporters bring you the action close-up and live: an RF camera at the end of the line is installed just after the arrival, while a mixed zone fibre optic camera is placed after the final step of the podium.

6.30-7 pm: "The Virenque Stage"

On the same set, our team records "The Virenque Stage", broadcast every night at 7.45 pm on Eurosport France: a look over the highlights of the day with Richard Virenque, Jacques Leunis and their guests!

7-9 pm: On the road for the next stage

Presenting on the move means being responsive and resilient: after all the equipment has been packed away, our team immediately sets off for the following stage!
