A range of services for the World Swimming Championships
A team of 30 staff set up their summer residence in Russia to work on a number of assignments for the "15th FINA World Championships" held from 24 July to 9 August 2015 in Kazan, capital of the Russian province of Tartastan.
Three very different assignments, three specialist teams.
Firstly, EUROVISION PRODUCTION COORDINATION (EPC), the event's host broadcaster, entrusted us with the technical coordination of signal production. This is a service provided by our SERVICES FACTORY, which brings its skills and expertise to tasks running alongside our own services. In this case, Franck Reynaud spent a whole year preparing for the event, and once on-site he assessed, coordinated, set-up, and supervised TDH technical operations between the local international feed (PANORAMA) and RF providers, as well as all relays. The complete system delivered 12 different signals.
We also bolstered EPC's staff with two assistants tasked with welcoming journalists to the commentator stations at two of the four locations.
This was a natural continuation of our close partnership with EPC at the World Ski Championships (Beaver Creek, USA) and World Equestrian Games (Caen, France).
RF International Feed
EPC chose RF FACTORY to set up and run the full RF system for the international feed at the Kazan Arena Stadium (synchronised swimming and swimming), the Aquatic Palace (diving and water polo), and open water contests in the Kazanka River (endurance swimming: 5, 10, 25 and 27km). In total, over 10 connections (mobile, boat cranes, Steadicams etc.) and seven technicians were required.
Lastly, France Télévisions entrusted us with managing their private feed for the event. To do so, we delivered a technical coordination/production team with assistance from a Russian partner (who provided us with an OB Truck and some technical staff), with AMP Visual TV providing the rest of the team. A total of 10 staff performed exactly the kind of service that France Télévisions has come to expect from AMP Visual TV.
