The Tour de Yorkshire
A few months out from the Tour de France, ASO chose us to film the Tour de Yorkshire ((United Kingdom). Our Optimum 1 and RF trucks followed the racers through the verdant British countryside for the three days of the competition.
Having worked together for several years on the Arctic Race, ASO chose us to film the first ever Tour de Yorkshire. Three RF motorbikes and a helicopter (fitted with a Cineflex camera mount) followed the racers along each stage. High above, a relay plane was in the air providing a connection to our RF truck. At the finish line, three heavy and two light cameras completed our filming equipment, providing RF images processed by our Optimum 1 truck.
An impressive crowd of some 1.5 million spectators turned out to watch the racers compete against each other along the roads near Leeds in West Yorkshire. The fanatical crowd saw Norway's Lars-Petter Nordhaug win the first Tour de Yorkshire.
